Over the past two days we stayed busy moving each herd to new pastures. Here at the home ranch we swapped pasture with the bulls/ horses and the cow herd. Yesterday we trailed the yearling/calves to a new farm circle about 3-4miles West of where they have been.
The yearlings/calves moved very well. It is always eventful moving a herd in a new place. We had just the right amount of help to make the move smooth and uneventful. The more cautious maneuver we had to make was crossing the major highway in the area and making an immediate left with the herd. Traffic was low at 11am and folks stopped when they saw a mass of black animals crossing the road. Plus the cattle made the left hand turn with ease.
