Spent Wednesday with some local folk and bottled mead. It was a lot of fun and I met a few new people. I also like mead now!
Thursday was also a day of exploring the Alamosa region. I helped move cows in the morning and then spent the rest of my day with our friends Trudi and John. They run a farm and have cattle with our bunch.
In the evening Trudi took me to a wonderful potluck. The community garden which is an educational one was celebrating their harvest.
I met some of the americorps and local food ladies. Lots of fun overall.
Way too many tomatoes!
I've been finding time to bake. I made a plum tart last night. It was a great hit with the little party we had. I picked the plums myself from a local tree. I had never seen plums on a tree. These plums are called Sand Hill Plums and are small and pink.
