I have a hard time believing that it is already the end of the month. I have kept myself extremely busy with the business of the ranch and a few side projects.
We've been working hard on grazing planning an finding winter feed for our herds. Hay prices are extremely high, and the price for pasture has gone up too. At the farmers market yesterday I had the chance to talk to a yak producer who just sold her entire herd because of hay prices and she had no where to go with them.
The Quivira Coalition has published my second quarterly report and you all can follow this link to read it for yourself:

Many of you all know that for the past four years I have been interested in apple orchards and cider making. Colorado has a healthy apple country near by and I have successfully pressed my very first batch. I had a lot I help but I was able to rig a press out of some scrap wood around here. I am fermenting my cider and hope in a month or two to have something tasty to share.
