Ghost Ranch

Over the past two days I've been visiting my friend Leah at the Ghost Ranch in Northern NM.  Leah is farming here for the summer.  What a contrast 60 miles can make across this state.  When I think of New Mexico this is more of what I picture in my head than where I've been living over the past two months.  I'm still in the same county.

The Ghost Ranch is also known for being one of the places Georgia O'Keeffe called home.  O'Keeffe was fascinated and inspired by Pedernal Mountain and many other views and sight around the ranch.  She deemed much of this land her "faraway."  For my Virginia friends, O'Keeffe went to college preparatory school in Chatham, VA and, as my brother pointed out, time at the University of Virginia, also.
