And Away We Go…

Today, I had the chance to sit in on an all day committee meeting with the grass-fed beef co-op. The ranch is one of the founding members of the group. It was a good chance to meet a few members and the operation manager. I have been enlisted to help with some future work. I am excited to learn more about this co-op model because I think this is one of the several ways small producers can unite.

Some exciting news came this morning as we were driving south our first calf was born. Sadly, I do not have a picture of the little bull yet, but I helped tag him this evening. Apparently, the bulls were turned in a little earlier than G&J remember, but after looking at the records, it became obvious that we were off by two-three weeks. Who knows when the next is due, there are several bagging up, but we will start monitoring early in the morning and throughout the day for newborns.

  1. All of this sounds so cool! I'll call you soon, tell me what times you're usually free of chores and dishwashing ;) I know you're two hours behind us there, yeah? Lemme know.
